Work Safely at Heights (WSH)
Aims and outcomes
The aim of this course is to provide candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely work at heights. On completion candidates will have knowledge in relevant Australian Standards, legislative requirements and company procedures relating to working at heights. Your employees will be able to identify and control hazards; understand job planning and resources required, access and egress; fall arrest and restraint systems, Personal Protective Equipment plus work confidently and safely at heights.

- Legislative requirements, Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and company procedures relating to working at heights
- Risk Management and risk control
- Company permit requirements
- Safe work methods
- Correct use of height safety equipment
- Elevated Working Platforms & Scaffolds
- Accountability and responsibility within the company
- Fall arrest devices & safety equipment
- Safe ladder techniques
- Equipment inspection & maintenance requirements
- Setting up a fall restraint system
- Emergency & rescue general and company procedures
- Suspension trauma
- Industry case studies
Certification
Successful candidates will be awarded the Nationally Recognised unit of competency: RIIOHS204A Work safely at heights recognised within the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF).
Axis issue a statement of attainment and wallet card.
