Elevated Work Platform (WP)
Aims and outcomes
This course aims to give candidates the necessary skills and knowledge to plan, prepare and complete Elevating Work Platform operations safely and efficiently in accordance with the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work. On completion of this course candidates will be able to conduct routine checks; plan work; check controls, operate and shut down elevated work platform.

Course Content
The Elevated Work Platform course is mapped to the nationally recognised unit of competency:
TLID3035A Operate a boom type elevating work platform
- Legislation, Australian Standards, National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work, codes of practice and company EWP procedures.
- Company risk management procedures and EWP risk control
- Elevating Work Platform types, working envelope, specificatons, job requirements, priorities, identifying hazards and hazard control measures relevant to EWP operation, communication and emergency procedures.
- PPE requirements
- Pre-start/Pre-operation checks, set-up, outriggers/stabilizers, ground conditions, mobiling, working around structures and other aspects of operation.
- Shut down, stowage, post operational checks. As per manufacturers specifications and site rules.
Certification
Successful candidates will be awarded the Nationally Recognised unit of competency TLID3035A Operate a boom type elevating work platform, recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Candidates will be awarded the WP High Risk Licence.
Duration
8 hours conducted over 1 day (experienced) or 16 hours over 2 days (inexperienced).
